Police & Laws

This is a general overview about police penal codes and other laws governing the City of Nemesis.

The rules and laws listed below are not considered to be server rules. These are in-game rules that directly affect your interactions with the Nemesis State Police.

Guns / Weapons

Weapons licenses are available from any NSP supervisor. The background check is free of charge, but the City charges a fee to get your license. All Ammunation vendors require a phyiscal weapons license to talk to them.

All weapons are automatically registered with NSP. If you don't want your weapon traceable, you must scratch the serial number off of it.

Land Vehicles

Licenses:

After three felony speeding citations (double the speed limit) your driver's license will be revoked for a total of 48 hours.  You may request community service from a Police Supervisor to get your license reinstated. - You may also lose your license for a total of 48 hours if you are arrested for felony evasion.

Impounds:

All vehicles that are used in a crime will be impounded with a $3000 fine.
All vehicles that are impounded for not criminal reasons such as abandoned or parked illegaly will incur a $500 fine.

Airport Usage:

All vehicles that are caught speeding (above 35MPH) on any airport vehicle road will be impounded for a total of 48 hours and will incur a $10000 fine.

All vehicles that are driven across any aircraft surface such as a parking ramp, taxiway or runway will be confinscated and auctioned at a police auction.

Air Vehicles

Licenses:

You must have a license to fly an aircraft solo.  You are allowed to pilot an aircraft with a licensed co-pilot for training purposes, but the co-pilot and aircraft owner holds ALL responsibility for the unlicensed pilot's actions.

Landings:

It is against the law to land your airplane or helicopter in non-designated areas.  This means you cannot land your aircraft in a congested area such as a parking lot or street.  

It is legal to land on a helipad with your helicopter in congested areas.  You are also authorized to your helicopter in a remote area when it is deemed safe to do so.

If you are caught landing in a non approved area your license will be revoked and your aircraft seized for 3 days.

Radio Operations:

Anytime you are piloting an aircraft you must be on radio channel 10.  Your callsign will be your first and last initial and the last four digits of your 'CSN Number', which is found on your ID Card.

Any time you are taking off and landing you must state your intentions, along with the direction of travel using your callsign.  If you are unable to be contacted VIA radio when flying your aircraft will be seized and your license revoked for a total of 3 days.

Weapons

Illegal Weapons:

All automatic weapons will be confinscated and destroyed.  High powered handguns such as the Desert Eagle are NOT considered illegal, and will be treated as a normal firearm.

Confiscation:

If you have firearms on you when you are being arrested or detained, they will be confinscated.  If you have a current weapons permit and have legal firearms they will be returned to you at the end of the interaction with police.  If your actions resulted in losing your weapons license or you did not have a valid weapons license at the time, your firearms will be destroyed.

Any other legal weapon such as a bat or knife will be returned to you at the end of the police interaction, unless you are being charged with a violent crime.

Licenses:

You are required to have a physical copy of your weapons license when carrying a firearm.  Your license may be revoked for a total of 48 hours if you used your license in a crime.  You may get it back by reaching out to a Police Supervisor after this time is up.

Drugs

Illegal Drugs:

All narcotics, mushrooms, moonshine and lean drinks are considered illegal.  Hashoil and Cannabis leafs are illegal over the quantity of 5.

Legal Drugs:

All homegrown and commercial purchased cannabis products are legal.  If you have over the quantity of (5) on you, it will be considered intent to distribute.  (This law does now count if the person has a valid business registered with the City of Nemesis)

Coca Leafs are legal to have in your possession.

All drug making components are legal to have in your possession in standalone form.  If you are caught with drug making components AND drugs it will be considered into to manufacturer and they will be confinscated and destroyed.

HashOil and cannabis leafs are legal up to a certain quantity (5).  If you are caught with more than 5 it will be considered intent to distribute.

Probable Cause

Detainment:

If you are in the immediate area or seen leaving the immediate of a reported crime, police have probable cause to stop and search you and your vehicle.

Traffic Stops:

Please have probable cause to stop any vehicle that is speeding, driving recklessly or missing any safety equipment such as windshields or headlights/tail lights.

Police also have cause to stop and question if you are seen leaving the immediate area of an active crime scene.

Search:

Police have probable cause to stop and search you and/or your vehicle if you are involved in violent crime or robbery.

Hunting

You must have a valid weapon's license to hunt with a firearm.
